Shoot For the Star, 2008

On August 18th jWeb New Media Design participated once again in the Pro Hunt Charity’s “Shoot for the Stars” event. This event is a Sporty Clay event that raises funds for local charities. Each year jWeb New Media Design provides the promotional materials for this event along with a simple web site for promotion and puts together a shooting team. This year’s beneficiaries were Camp Rainbow and Therapeutic Horsemanship.
Camp Rainbow’s goals are to provide seriously ill children the opportunity to enjoy a camping experience in an environment that allows each child to participate in exciting activities, to make new friends, to build self-esteem, and to be relieved of the everyday stress caused by their illness. Also of utmost importance, Camp Rainbow provides each camper with necessary medical care required of their illness. www.camprainbow.org
Therapeutic Horsemanship is located in Wentzville, MO. It is ranked as one of the top therapeutic riding programs in the country. Their purpose is to promote horseback riding as a recreational means for people with disabilities who are working toward therapeutic goals.
The movement of the horse’s stride mimics the pelvic movements of walking. This
repetitive motion helps to improve balance, coordination, strength and muscle tone
as it gently mobilizes the joints. It can also be used for low-level cardiovascular
conditioning, especially in sedentary persons with disabilities, thereby contributing to their overall quality of life. www.thstl.org
